Event Location: Calmar Public Library

The library is getting ready for this year’s Summer Library Program.  This year’s theme is “Reading Colors Your World”.

The kick-off event will be held on Tuesday, July 20th from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the library, with a special program presented by Lilly Jensen from Winneshiek County Conservation. Monday, July 26th – Thursday, July 29th, programs will be held at the library from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.  Program events and activities include:  coloring crayon activity sheets for display, tie-dye shirts and a color scavenger hunt in the library, making paper butterflies, and rainbow chains and sidewalk chalk artwork and design.   We also have a “Guess the Number of Skittles” guessing jar.  Reading logs will be handed out to all kids in attendance to track books read for the week.  Friday, July 30th is our final day and we will be hosting Blank Park Zoo, once again, as they will be bringing out 2 animal ambassadors to visit the library and all the kids in attendance.  This program will begin at 1:00 p.m. 

Following the program we will have treats and prizes to give away. Check back with us for updates. On-line registrations forms are available for parents to fill out and submit to the library.
